The issue right now looks to be addressed as commissioner of Mysore Betsurmath has assured that he will look into it as soon as possible. He said that he couldn't earlier because he was busy with the dasara works. I'm not really sure about this assurance though.
Did you know that this project faced a lot of opposition from a ot of people as they thought that it would spoil the heritage that the building is. But the Corporation had to do it becauese there was too much flo wof vehicles in and around.
One more thing. The contractor claimed for damages to which the corpration said it would be cleared by Dasara but even after about a half an year or so that payment hasn't been made. Looks like a failed project is simply creating too much issues.
You know this brought whole new situation for the corporation. The delay gave way to further complications as the contractor was claming that machines worth about 5 crores or so have been damanged and have stopped working because they weren't put to work for over two years.
The black soil was only supposed to take a week. But supposedly they had to stop the entire construction. Move over with it and start a new construction altogether. This was done when 50 per cent of the actual work was entirely completed which caused loss of money and other resources for the corporation.
So the technical issues were not cleared by the mysore corporation. What happened was that the builders found black soil unde the building meaning that they had to devise a new plan to construct the structure and hence the builders were asked to stop the work.
The project was planned with a budget of 18 crores and it was expected to be complete on or within a year's time. But several technical issues surfaced and it was shelved in 2012 and the work hasn not picked up yet even after 4 years.
True. A basement parking was supposed to come up in Mysore at the Town Hall. But it is not be found due to the tter innefficient work by the Mysore city corporation. This was planned sometime in 2011 but it hasn't been completed.
