There is a plan to remove encroachments and lay road on the banks of sanganoor canal ,,once it materialize then two wheelers can use these roads then automatically traffic woes on avarampalayam road will come to an end
I researched if there was any bridge project was coming up. But to my dismay I found out that SOuther Railways has no plans to bild a rail over bridge in the vicinity. This is really disconcerting as people have to go through this busy crossing everyday.
You know there's another issue that has made the traffic worse. Trafiic has been diverted and all the city buses now pass from the Mettupalayam bus stand to gandhipuram take this route to go the rest of the city. The sad part here is that when two buses take the same route at once and face each other. It take a hell lot of time for them to clear anf traffic piles up really bad.
Hello. I usually travel through this road and it gets really really frustrating, especially during the peak hours from 6 pm to 10 pm. There are instances when I have been stuck twice because the roads were too busy and I couldn't cross it.
Actually the signal will be closed for 5 minutes everyday and all types of vehicles (about 300 in total) from two wheelers, 4 wheelers and other huge vehicles gather on either side of the road and all these vehicles take over the side of the road they are in and do not let the other side passby. ALso the space available on one side is enough only for a 4 wheeler to pass by.
So there are a total of 53 trains that pass by this crossing every day which means the signal will be closed for the same number of times and everytime it will take about 10 to 20 minutes in total for the traffic to clear so there goes about 4 to 5 hoours a day.
Right. This traffic is so pathetic that commuters have to wait atleast 15 to 30 minutes just to get away from this place. Residents around here have been asking the local authority for an over bridge for over 5 years now. But their pleas are falling on deaf ears.
Exaclty if you cross the Ramakrishna Group of Institurtions from the Acarampalayam route, traffic moves in a snail's pace as there's only one route to take where vehicles from both the sides crowd up the road leazving little or no room for either of them to paass through.
Avarampalayam area has a railway crossing near it and commuters have to pass through there when move from Ganapathy and Gandhipuram. But every one that use the roads around here will know that the traffic is probabl the worst to bear.
