As per sources, Crores & crores money has been paid by HUDA for the maintenance of sectors for the last 15-20 years. Then again, the MCG is charging house tax from inhabitants of HUDA sectors, since origin, yet is not utilizing the same for maintenance of HUDA sectors. Comparatively, HUDA is being loaded with maintenance costs of the sectors.

According to sources, the old sectors like sector 1 to sector 57 be given over to MCG at the soonest for the maintenance purposes, so that HUDA can concentrate on the new sectors development. Anita Yadav recommended that for the new sectors, an moderate policy be encircled by the government for requiring of maintenance charges.

As per news, for the new sectors, another strategy(new policy) may be encircled to collect maintenance charges of Rs 200 to Rs 2,000 as indicated by the span of the plot/building, with a yearly increment of 10% for giving services to the residents. Individuals are paying the charges yet somehow are not able to get the essential services. This new policy will help utilizing the money in sector improvement & public utility services.

Hi Manider,
As per the latest news, administrator of HUDA, Anita Yadav has looked for another effective policy for collecting the maintenance charges from the new sectors 58 to sector 115 and the giving over of upkeep services of every single old sector from 1 to 57 to the MCG be sped up.

@ Manider,
According to sources, in a letter to the Chandigarh honorable chief administrator, the administrator of HUDA has looked for that maintenance charges for sectors 58 to 115 be paid to HUDA, along with property tax to the MCG, like how people in colonized territories need to pay maintenance to the developer.

Hi Guys,
It is also heard that, honorable administrator Anita Yadav, in her letter sent to chief administrator Brijendra Singh, declared that after the initial assignment of residential sectors by HUDA, an enormous amount/expenses was brought about for maintenance of public utilities like roads, sanitation, water supply as well as sewerage services.

Hi Mr Karthik,

According to HUDA officials, the final set of files for transfer of sectors according to their terms is ready and the MCG just has to give the nod. It has been over a month; we have had the files ready since February 1, which was the tentative date decided for transfer of sectors to MCG. There has been no correspondence on from the MCG regarding the transfer process,

I came to know from news that, After RWAs raised objections in January, the MCG commissioner and HUDA administrator met residents of sectors 4 and 7, and are yet to hear out the grievances of the other sectors.

MCG chief Vikas Gupta said that other urgent issues have got in the way of the transfer process. "I got busy with other matters that needed urgent attention, but I will coordinate and hold a meeting with the HUDA administrator next week.

Hi Karthik,

According to me, transfer of HUDA sectors seems to have hit a roadblock, with the urban local bodies department (ULB) not keen to take charge without the transfer of assets and liabilities. This comes as a breather for residents' welfare associations protesting against the transfer of sectors with pending development works. Sources in the ULB department claimed that HUDA's terms of transfer were not acceptable to them, since they would only burden the local bodies' coffers.

@ Karthik,

In my point of view, HUDA wants all empty plots and revenue from commercial establishments in these 18-odd sectors to remain with it. That would mean that the MCG would have to rely on the property tax collected from these areas for development and maintenance works, which would only place an unnecessary burden on the corporation.
