The sad part here is the quarry workers are using the Kochi Metro slacking progress to negotiate with the government. Also the DC said that the contractors are being silly for blaming the 2 week strike for not doing their work for the past 20 months.

Faced with men and machinery at Kochi Metro work sites and yards idling for the past two weeks due to the strike, L&T had on Saturday threatened of withdrawing from the project’s civil works but the district collector M.G. Rajamanickam has told them not to hide behind that strike to not work.

HEy, it is the quarry strike that is hampering the availablity of granite. CM Oommen Chandy has said that they had thought of taking a strong action against the protesters but a legal high court issue on this has halted that.

The Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy spoke on this and has said that he has planned a meeting involving all the stake holders on the 2nd of March about the shortage issue. Noe let's hope this could lead to something positive.

The strike is over 15 days old for now and so the MD of the Kochi Metro has suggested that the contractors must make use of the November- May working season as there will be no rains and that they could speed it up by then.

You know this strike has made the availability of granite a very tough thing for the metro project . So Elias Geroge has been saying that the workers must not cite such reasons and say that they fell off the schedule due to this.

But the MD Elias George is trying to persuade the workers and has told his workers that they should work on making sure that the project will be completed by the deadline date which is the June of 2016. Whether he has been successful or not is not known.

The Managing Director of the Kochi Metro Rail Limited too has made this clear recently. He has said that the strikes are dimply prolonging the civil works of the project as the strike is taking a turn for the worse.

Hello, This is true and I think this will definitely stretch the metro project past the deadline if the necessary actions are not taken to quell the strikes. Many lorry drivers too have joined this charade causing a lot of trouble for the KMRL officials.
