The state government is still moving ahead with the sop, and the administration would take up verification of applications from Monday and submit a report by end of March, which is some encouraging news.

Well, the Shaikpet mandal has logged the highest number of applications (332) in the district followed by Nampally (98), while Charminar recorded the lowest among the 16 mandals with just two applications.

Yeah, in fact, the government had extended the scheme by a month from January 31 to February 28, keeping in view the poor response. In some mandals, applicants were enquiring about payment, but failed to pay it, claiming the basic value was high.

I talked to a senior government offices, and he said that they are still trying to ascertain the reason for poor response for the regularisation scheme. Though the government had relaxed payment of basic value and allowed applicants to pay the amount in four installments, squatters did not come forward to utilise the opportunity.

Yeah, the comment below mine is right, They expected more and are foxed by the lukewarm response from squatters. The district administration received 332 applications from the mandal and earned Rs 12.82 crore (12.50% basic value).

Did you know that the district administration had high expectations that the scheme would receive good response in Shaikpet mandal as most government land in areas like Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, Nandi Nagar and Krishna Nagar has been encroached upon.

Some details i came across; According to GO 59, the applicant should have possession on or before June 2, 2014, to be eligible for regularisation for either residential or commercial properties. Though hundreds of squatters evinced interest in the scheme, most of them stayed away from paying the basic value fixed by the government.

From what i know, with the last date for regularisation ending on February 28, the Hyderabad district administration has received only 942 applications and Rs 29.30 crore in the form of demand drafts from squatters.

Well bad news, i guess with regard to the status of the land regularisation sop. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's land sop (regularisation of encroached government land on payment of basic value under GO 59) has flopped in Hyderabad district
