Coimbatore Integrated Waste Management had registered for tax exemption for production of organic manure and bio gas in 2008, but failed to file monthly returns for it. So the registration was cancelled.
The authorities of the Waste Management system denied any of this. they said that they had been producing manure continuously. The general manager of the CIWM, said that they did not produce any bio gas. But were producing 100 tonnes of manure every month.
The company recorded a turnover of 11,44,369 in 2012-2013 but had not claimed any tax exemption that financial year. The recorded turnover for 2013-2014 was 19,31,039 for which 4,30,534 was exempted. For 2014-2015, 3,30,147 was the turn over and tax exempted was 1,35,846.
the commercial taxes department stated that, the company had registered for tax exemption since 2008 for the production of organic manure and bio gas and was asked to file monthly returns for it. Since it failed to do so, on January 19, 2015, the registration was cancelled.
The commercial taxes department lifted the value added tax exemption ( VAT) given to Coimbatore Integrated Waste Management, the contractor of Vellalore dump yard, for failing to file monthly tax returns for the production of organic manure and bio gas raising suspicion the company had not produced the said items as mandated.
