You know, actually, nearly 44 works are under progress and work order has been issued for about 53. Another 13 are yet to get the government`s approval. there is a committee, headed by district in-charge minster, to look after the works under the CM`s grant.
One more thing I would like to add for this is that a portion of funds has also been reserved for traffic improvement, but officials are yet to get approval for it. This is the main reason why the projects are facing a delay. If the projects get approved the work will be done fast.
In the latest Rs 100-crore grant, officials have taken up various projects in 83 packages consisting of 119 works. The fund is being utilized for asphaltation of roads, construction of storm-water drain and laying of new UGD lines and pavement development.
Yeah..recently, when I came to know, the funds were actually underutilized. I think that the MCC authorities are putting the blame for the delay to revision of action plans and problems in getting sanctions and approvals.
You know...In the past eight years, Rs 500 crore has been allocated to Mysuru city under different schemes, including the Rs 100-crore chief minister`s grant for three years and Rs 100 crore each for basic infrastructure improvement and heritage conservation in the previous year.
I think that there are hundreds of projects, which were supposed to be completed in December 2014 and January, are still under progress. The Mysuru City Corporation received the allocation last year, but only 60% of the grant has been sanctioned.
Yeah that is true. The works, especially those which are under 100 crore rupees are going very slowly. Only four of the 119 development projects taken up in Mysuru under the chief minister`s Rs 100-crore grant could be completed in the past one year.
