I don't think the corporation must let it slip away this time around. I mean there is a lot of time available to make a plan with pin point detail. So let's see how this will go. Hope we get the record.
During the judging pricess, Officials concerned will also evaluate every sanitary worker based on a five different criterias such as their appearance, work skills, segregation, weighing and cleaning. This could also help figure out who workd the best or the worst although that is not what this is about.
For the judging part, there will be a jury that would judge the best zone, best ward and best pushcart maintained by a sanitary worker. The prize money would be 5 lakh, 50,000 and 30,000 respectively. See prizes like these will draw more crowd.
There is some news about the previous attempt. The prize distribution ceremony would be held by the end of this month for the clean city championship that was held on March 1 which went on till March 7.
Actually, there is also another reason to set this up in June. Because it is the ideal time for the event as students would be back from vacation and thus they could participate in the event which could give a lot more man power.
That is not just it. Technology will make a huge impact here. Supposedly at least 4,000 android phones would be arranged for the project, that will have the app, and personnel would be deployed for troubleshooting technical problems where and when necessary.
I think this time will be an all out attempt as some of the officials have also said that they would train over 4,000 stewards and other volunteers participating in the event to curb loop holes. This is well thought out.
The working of the city of Oita and Coimbatore are different. So the corporation keept in mind the demographics of both Oita and Coimbatore cities and suggested different methodologies which have been approved by the GWR in London.
Higher officials from the coimbatore corporation have also confirmed the date and said that this time, they would make sure that they attempt it only after all the procedures are approved by the representatives of the GWR because the first one was a raw attempt.
Oh, yeah that! There is already such an attempt done which is not the current record and is standing for about 10 years now. Oita city of Japan hold the current record as they had over 1,46,679 people collecting litter on August 7, 2005.
Now that the date is set for June, it will give the corporation officials behind this, adequate time to mobilize volunteers, conduct training camps, create awareness, do field planning and work on our data collection and make a more efficient attempt.
You know, the committee for the guiness world record (GWR) actuallywanted a buffer period of atleast 90 days to approve of the new methodology that is being adopted to do an in depth planning and training before the corporation. attempt the record.
Yes.The coimbatore corporation officials gave out some guidelines on how the attempt will be carried out. They also submitted an outline of the methodology that they would be using in June which has been approved by the committee back in London.
The latest buzz is that, the second attempt for the record attempt will be done on the 18th of June as the headquartes of the competition in London has already given a green signal for this and that is about it.
Tell you what,it is things like these that we want. Imagine if this happens in every city. Whole of India will be a lot cleaner and the Swacch Bharath yojana would truly become a success. We'll see how the second attempt goes, anyway.
Now that somebody has brought this up. Yes. There is some news about this. The Coimbatore Corporation has taken the failure attempt in good spirits and is planning for another attempt on the same which I think will be annoucned very very soon.
