Chennai is truly moving quick and the rate of improvement may very well surpass other metropolitans, if infrastructure is given more consideration along with, real estate and construction. I was in OMR the other day inspecting sites for properties like Shine & Mandarin, the entire IT corridor is admirable, and the smartcity ought to be reconstructed like this. I am pleased to be an inhabitant of the current developing Chennai. Having a spot in the heart of OMR is awesome, thanks to Radiance Realty for being such a dependable firm. Hopefully well see more from this amazing city and it wont disappoint on any account.
Chennai is one of four metros that have made the grade. As per news the Centre has made TN's wishlist for smart cities come true. It has accepted that all the 12 cities chosen by the state government will be considered for the smart city tag.
Under the smart city project, each city would get around 500 crore over five years from the Centre. The spend by government will have a multiplier effect. It will improve quality of life.
Hi kushal,I really appreciate govt initiative in terms of smart city , i just want to give my view point that the smart city project is the urban development project of the Modi government with focusing ambitious of JNNURM. While JNNURM took up mega projects such as storm water drain for Chennai, the smart city initiative focuses on ensuring safe drinking water, solid waste management and digital connectivity. While the 100 crore allocation per year may sound good, it gives cities a chance to think ahead and come up with a vision for each city keeping with projected growth in population.
Hi all, I want to address few information that depend on state government funds or funding agencies like World Bank for large infrastructure projects. its time to open the door of foreign investor to invest in infrastructure project.
Hey I have hear that Japan has offered assistance to set up a smart city in Ponneri near Chennai.which will increase foreign investor as well as boost the real estate market in chennai.
Hi priya, As we all know that Smart city project will eventually take up 100 cities, with aim of spending 100 crore every year. Chennai Corporation said that the city will be among the 20 that will be selected as part of the first phase of the Centre's smart city project. it is follow great impact in overall real estate development.
As per Government officers Chennai is at the top of the list of TN cities competing for the smart-city tag. But Chennai falls short on many of the selection criteria indicated for smart project. For instance, average weightage i.e 25% is given for self-generation of resources and Chennai where the internal revenue generation is less than average 30% of total budget outlay, is way behind other cities such as Mumbai.
