Hey Guys,
Local people griefed about this initiative taken by Delhi Development Authority. It is not fair to ruin the huts & farms of poor farmers who cultivate vegetable in the bank of Yamuna river. At least some time should be given to clear their property & farms. They worked hard to survive by selling spinach, cucumber & other vegetable. How come it is a good initiative by NGT or DDA ??
Hi Guys, As per Mr Singh, all people requested for is a little time to clear their produce. Around 500 cottages were demolished. Three eras of farmers have lived here. Akshardham sanctuary, a games village and even the secretariat go under Zone O of Yamuna.But however, authority demolished their homes. Mr singh said, claiming rural agriculture helped revive groundwater levels and not contaminate it.
@ Mr Subho Mallik,
The NGT's request had specified that restricted activities of horticulture and silviculture could be carried on given agriculturists complied with particular consents and confinements. The authority had sat tight for the crops to mature and the farmers were told not to harvest new products from January, but rather they ignored authority advice.
@Subho,
DDA vice-chairman Mr Balvinder Kumar said, these eviction procedures are not illegal by any means. DDA Authority have chosen to develop two biodiversity parks and will clear a stretch of 26km from Wazirpur to Okhla. This is truly a great step taken by NGT for cleaning illegal properties along Yamuna river.
As per different sources, General secretary of Delhi laborers society, Mr Baljeet Singh, said approx 100 farms were influenced by the drive and experience a loss of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 worth vegetables like cucumber, mint, spinach, ladie's fingers and radish being destroyed. It is a huge loss for farmers.
As per the request, currently, vegetables, fodder grown as well as associated projects at the floodplain of Yamuna are exceptionally polluted. Other than containing elements of high toxins, such produce is even found to contain metallic poisons. People eating or utilizing such horticultural produce can go through the severe diseases of genuine illnesses including cancer.
Hey Guys, As I heard in recent news,NGT ordered Delhi Development Authority to demolish unauthorized settlements & farms along Yamuna Bank. Kindly discuss about it.
Hi Mr Subho Mallik, The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday destroyed small huts and demolished farms spread more than 20 acres close to Old Iron Bridge beside Golden Jubilee Park. This comes as a piece of the demolition drive requested by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on January 13 to clear the Yamuna bank of unauthorized illegal establishment and farms.
Hey Guys, As per sources, one of the penalyzed construction site is situated in Sector 102 close to the Dwarka expressway. 2 others are on Golf Course Road, with other 3 in sectors close-by. The authority said 5 developers have effectively deposited the fine money. While the developer in Sector 102 has been fined upto Rs 1.5 lakh, those on Golf Course Road have paid Rs 2.5 lakh punishment each. 3 different builders have paid fine of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh each.
@ Samrat,
Authority of HSPCB said consistently, HSPCB has been investigating 8 to 10 construction sites since the NGT directive. Indeed, even authority are re investigating a few construction sites to guarantee that developers don't quit following construction rules and regulations.
@ Mr Samrat,
Every builder & developers have been warned, once more, to begin following development rules instantly. Furthermore, the pollution board is likewise wanting to keep in touch with the transport authority to impact a crackdown on vehicles carrying construction material/waste without covers. Despite the fact that the court notification was sent to all authority, departments are getting objections of vehicles carrying development material without cover. Authority have, hence, chose to report it to RTA.
Official from HSPCB told the builders and developers were discovered violating fundamental norms stipulated in the MoEF rules, for example, setting up of green barriers as well as windbreak walls near construction site, covering of construction material and construction waste and utilization of sprinklers at construction site to decrease discharge of dust.
According to most recent news, The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has fined around 6 builders sums between Rs 1.5 lakh-Rs 2.5 lakh to each during the previous month, after they were discovered violating Union ministry of environment and forest's (MoEF) 2010 construction rules and regulations.
@ Mr Samrat, According to sources, this action took after the National Green Tribunal order on April 10, 2015, to the PCB to complete inspections all over NCR. The tribunal had advised the PCB to charge a penalty of Rs 50,000 on defaulters as well as seize their projects. HSPCB had officially fined around 15 developers in May. With six more fined throughout the recent month, the aggregate number has gone up to 21.
