The government should not only think about providing homes to all but also make sure that builders take the right route to provide homes i.e. the building should be as per the norms and should have all the facilities and also should be free of legal hassles and the occupancy Certificate/no objection certificate should also be handed over to the society as soon as the building is finished so that they do not have to face hardships later on.

The informal group, comprising urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu, finances minister Arun Jaitley, law minister DV Sadananda Gowda, is examining the Real Estate (Development and Regulation) Bill and the report of Rajya Sabha select committee.

Why didn't the UPA govt. think in favor of the poor home buyers? Why are they raising the issue now when NDA Govt. is serious with this issue.

According to sources, the group of ministers has also been asked to carefully examine the issues raised by the Opposition in the select panel.

It is very sensitive subject. Having a own home is a dream of lakhs of Indians. And for government is making all efforts to ensure that all will have their own home.

Right Saras,
It is heard that the government has to take a political call on certain recommendations of the select committee. The GoM has discussed it and would make suggestions to the PM. The final call will be taken soon after which the urban development ministry would prepare a Cabinet note.

The realty bill should ensure that the land mafias indulged in the acquisition of large parcels of lands from farmers under the guise of forming farm lands and resorts etc should be brought under strict regulation and supervision.

Yes, PM Narendra Modi has formed an informal group of ministers to examine the legislation and suggest changes that would be make it home buyer-friendly while protecting interests of the real estate industry. The government is intent on to push the bill in the next winter session of Parliament.

Which are the members of the informal group? The Congress has alleged that the Modi government had watered down the bill framed by the UPA government to favour the real estate industry at the cost of home buyers. Do you have any updates on it?
