Criminal cases should be registered against builders for illegal construction in Navi Mumbai
Q: The Bombay high court took a serious view of the increasing illegal constructions in Navi Mumbai and said criminal cases should be registered against builders responsible for them.

These are serious breach of the law under the IPC and the MRTP Act and the court should direct earlier. FIR needs to be registered against these builders. Criminal law needs to be set in motion and builders need to be taken to task. These builders must be held responsible.
Issue came to know when a division bench of Justices A S Oka and V L Achiliya was hearing two PILs by Rajiv Mishra and advocate Mayura Maru raising concerns over illegal constructions in Navi Mumbai. Developer has reap the profit but the poor buyers have to face the problem now.
It would be a good for the buyers. Earlier this week, the state government had told the court that it was planning to regularise all illegal constructions in Navi Mumbai and said it will frame a policy on this soon. Already a lot's of illegal constructions have happened in Navi Mumbai.
It is also came to know that the court directed a senior police officer from Navi Mumbai to be present before it on October 19. They want to know what steps the police has taken against such builders. The commissioner of police Navi Mumbai should constitute a special team comprising senior officers to inquire into this.
