Q: Maharashtra state government has adopted a new policy according to which a special officer will be appointed to keep a tab on illegal constructions.

Latest Answer: But still similar cases come up in Mumbai as well where builders fake documents and involve in illegal constructions. My question is will the government appoint a deputy commissioner of police or above rank officer to keep a watch or to take awareness of these complaints of illegal structures in Mumbai.

Q: The Bombay high court on Monday fined Janhit Manch and the developer of Palais Royale for one of the largest residential projects in the island city.
Latest Answer: Yes, and the court punished both parties saying that the CJ is the master of the roster and moving for review of his administrative order is not the law. The developer's advocate accepted that it was an "error". The judges told that due to the NGO's conduct, the developer's petition could not be taken up for hearing. They let the NGO's plea to be withdrawn and posted the hearing for December 14.

Q: The Bombay high court took a serious view of the increasing illegal constructions in Navi Mumbai and said criminal cases should be registered against builders responsible for them.
Latest Answer: Right Amreesh, These are serious breach of the law under the IPC and the MRTP Act and the court should direct earlier. FIR needs to be registered against these builders. Criminal law needs to be set in motion and builders need to be taken to task. These builders must be held responsible.

Q: Attention citizen !!!!! Maharashtra Government has made it compulsory for citizens to get a no objection certificate from a special committee to construct anything within 500 meter radius of a prison.
Latest Answer: as said, any new redevelopment of building is proposed in the 500m radius of prison then what guidelines as an architect do we have to follow? there are some approval members in planning committee says to have a blank wall all throughout. which is not possible in the city like mumbai and specially in a redevelopment building in a place like chorbazar. kindly let me know if there are any such rules that an architect or a developer will have to adhere to.

Latest Answer: Actually, the court also noted that NMMC has every right to allow residents to redevelop their shabby structures, without an NOC from Cidco.
