These should be stopped and govt. should take the disciplinary action against those builders and estate agent for further forgery.
Hi Everybody,
The Bombay high court on Monday directed the police to take action against builders for illegal constructions instead of waiting for someone to come forward to lodge a complaint. The issue came into highlights when a bench headed by Justice Abhay Oka, while hearing a public interest litigation regarding a large number of illegal constructions in Digha village in Navi Mumbai.
Yes, on October 12, the state government had told the court it is considering framing a policy to regularize them. A senior police official from the Navi Mumbai commissionerate was present, following a notice from the court.
The bench reacted after reading a note submitted by the government's advocate which mentioned that the police has requested City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) to lodge a formal complaint in the matter.
The government's advocate also informed that 2-FIR have been filed against 6-builders and 2-agents.
@Sishir,
Justice Oka asked police, do you want said party to approach the police? Without this, you are helpless? Is there nothing like of your own action? If you register offence on time, money of flat purchasers can be recovered.
Now MIDC has been asked to submit the list of illegal buildings, which came up on their plots and names of builders involved in these projects, which will enable them to proceed further and take action.
Through the RTI report, civic activist Brjesh Mishra and his counsel advocate Ramesh Tripathi have named the officials of NMMC, Cidco, MSEB, police, builders, corporators and netas and demanded action against them. They are also involved in such rackets.
