But the demolition drive to clear 90 illegal buildings, which have come up on MIDC land, has still not started as residents of these buildings are obtaining stay orders from the court. Two of the buildings targeted by MIDC demolition team, Ambika Building and Moreshwar Apartment, have got stay till December 31, delaying the action.
As per the report, 3 buildings were demolished in October by MIDC, because of that demolition work over a 100 families had become homeless. But this time they have given enough time to bring stay order from the court.
@Jagraav, Even they served a sen-days notice period to the building. This happened more than once since December 31, when they were scheduled to start the demolition. Now, they are unsure when to start the demolition.
A coordination committee has made, including MIDC, Cidco and NMMC officials, has also been set up as per court order, to verify property documents of such structures before moving to file FIRs and demolish them.
The FIR have been lodged by MIDC at Rabale MIDC police station against unethical developers who encroached upon government land and cheated poor home buyers in Digha.
Right Jagraav. 4 of the accused builders have been arrested and sent to jail after high court slammed the authorities for their negligent attitude and another 3 with regard to illegal buildings in Digha have been filed by activist Brajesh Mishra under Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act.
