Hi all, I heard that the Phase-2B corridor will pass along Linking Road to Mankhurd via Bandra-Kurla Complex. It will have an interlink facility in BKC, from where Metro-3 underground corridor (Seepz-Ban-dra-Colaba) will criss-cross. Is it true? If it happens then the property as well as rental markets in those locality will grow rapidly.
The Metro-2 corridor had faced opposition from those living on Linking Road between Santacruz and Bandra who wanted it underground. But as the project cost was estimated at Rs 25000 crore three times costlier than an elevated corridor. So, MMRDA decided to build an elevated Metro-2.
Because of this issue, The DMRC has been tied up by the MMRDA to prepared a detailed project report for Metro-I2 corridor and a meeting between the officials of the two agencies to discuss the same is scheduled on December 30. Let's hope for the best.
@David, But the detailed project report will have to be approved in the MMRDA meeting before it is placed before the cabinet. Later on, tenders for the work can be invited.
And as per the latest news, The DMRC will build Phase-1 of the corridor from D N Nagar to Dahisarat a cost of Rs 6410 crore and Phase-2B from D N Nagar to Mankhurdat a cost of Rs 15000 crore.
@Jitu, Actually, the draft report submitted by DMRC for the corridor between D N Nagar to Mankhurd has suggested an elevated path and it has also recommended that the corridor be extended by 1.3 km at the Mankhurd end-up to Mandalay as the car shed is already proposed there.
