Gud afternoon Navven & Lohit!!!!
The MCG has made it clear earlier that it will not be able to maintain these areas with property tax alone and has asked the state government for permission to collect maintenance fees as well. Because of this issue chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has asked the urban local bodies department to see if the property tax can be revised in order to ensure that funds are generated.

The property tax will go up across the state of Haryana If and when it effected. And the increased charges should be enough to cover maintenance of colonies that will get transferred to MCG after some time. Everyone was taken by surprise when the CM announced on February 5 that DLF phases 1-3, Sushant Lok-1 and Palam Vihar would be brought under MCG's region.

It is true that residents of these areas have been demanding the transfer for a very long time.
As per the latest information,govt. agencies had little groundwork to make sure the transfer could be smooth.

@Indranil,
Now, there is talk of a hike in property tax, but it is limit to rebound because the Khattar government will become unpopular if property tax is increased. MCG official were saying that they were waiting for the government's clarification. They are yet to hear from the government on whether or not we can collect maintenance fee from the residents.

Yes, it seems to me that Homeowners in Gurgaon may have to pay more property tax as MCG stands firm on its lack of ability to take private colonies and Huda sectors for maintenance with the current levies.

Hi Naveen,
It is true as last month Haryana Govt. decided to transfer all HUDA sectors across the state to Municipal Corporation for maintenance. But the corporations, including MCG, but they have resources crisis and are looking for additional funds for their new responsibilities.
