Hi folks, It is came to know that residents of these locality will soon file a writ petition with the National Green Tribunal to prevent PCMC from developing the garbage depot.
But would that be useful?? I have almost finalized flat in Puneville bt came to know abt this garbage depo thing...now m really scared ...what should i do?
Hi Anjali!!! Yes, PCMC has planned a garbage depot in Punawale to solve the rising protests in Moshi over garbage disposal. The depot will be spread over 60 acres. However, work has not yet started, as approval from the state government is awaited. Once, it will be started then govt will take the necessary step to reduce he stink.
@Anjali, Even the court has ordered the PMC to shift the garbage depo from Uruli Devachi and Phursungi to an alternative location. But PMC is saying that it is seeking renewal of authorization from The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board not only for the landfill activity but also for a new Garbage Processing plant.
Hi Nikhil... PMC is also saying that except for the existing sites and other miscellaneous portion of land, PMC has no other land available for garbage processing, and was unable to get the proposed land at Tulapur and two other sites.
in that case better to cancel the investment in punawale.....after 5 months exclusive search we have found out good3bhk property in punawale....but now it seems that we should forget about this option.
