Q: SIR, we have already built house in agriculture land of about 15 cents. now remainig land left of house has to be put to sale. the land is not converted to N,A. but door NO is already entered in the demand of town municipal.now how toconvert 15 cents agri land to NA,

I agree with both Amarnath and Anusua....Each state has different land revenue code which contain provisions for conversion of land for different use. Usually the power lies with the district collector or any other officer assigned by him. So, mode is to approach concerned revenue authorities and apply for conversion, which usually happens in due course upon payment of requisite fees. So, visit your District collector’s office, file for NA (Non agricultural) permission.

According to U/S 95 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, the owner or the legal entity of the land has to make an application, to the competent Revenue Authority (Tahsildar or the Assistant Commissioner or the Deputy Commissioner, as the case may be, depending on the area to be converted). The revenue authority request the Department of Town and Country Planning for issue of No Objection Certificate or opinion for conversion of land for various uses (Residential / Commercial / Industrial / Others).

Hi,
The process of converting an agricultural land for non-agricultural use is called Land Use Conversion. Land Use Conversion is commonly referred to as DC Conversion. “DC” stands for Deputy Commissioner since the authorisation to use land for non-agricultural purposes is issued by the Deputy Commissioner. However, in some cases the conversion can also be done by a Tehsildar. So, consult the relevant department.
