Q:HiCan someone help me with the procedure of paying stamp duty in Pune for property purchase agreement?I have booked a flat in Ravet and agreement is to be done next week. The builder has informed me that stamp duty has be paid in cash over the counter only in Bank of Maharashtra. Is it true or is there any other option available like Cheque/DD/Netbanking.He has informed me that this rule has been applied recently in Pune from DEC-2013. Thanks in advance for the input

You can pay the stamp duty charges through cash. You can also pay via cheque and DD. You also have the option of paying it through net banking for which you have to register with the bank. In case if you are paying through net banking an email will be sent to your mail id as proof of acknowledgement.
