Hi everybody,
Do you know that the Cabinet gave its approval for establishing solid waste management units by Sateram Enterprises and Maltose Agri Products Private Limited near Bengaluru. Even the cabinet has fixed a rate i.e. processing fee of Rs 253/tonne has been fixed for both the units.
Nadeem

It is also came to know that the Cabinet gave its approval to the Fire and Emergency Services department to purchase 90-meter high modern aerial ladder platform. A decision was also taken to reconsider the pay scale of the staff of BBMP hospitals, including doctors and nurses.

Hi all,
There is another possiblility might be that the city can encourage citizens to recycle garbage at their homes by creating compost bins which can be used as rich organic fertilizers for their gardens. Incentives to the citizens for maintaining home compost bins can be given by the city. Otherwise, in future people will have to face lot of difficulties at the same time BBMP has to face the same.

There is another way that is scientific way of waste management treatment will be secure, healthy for all mankind. To keep our neighborhood neat, clean, hygenic and protect mankind life from epidemic diseases. Scientific method which is 100% green echo free project carried out by a Canadian. Our govt. should follow them to solve the garbage issue in the locality.

Hi Tamana,
Yes ,you are right. Those places where BBMP planning to plant waste processing units will affect health & nature both. BBMP started establishing waste processing units in villages as per Revenue Department issued a notification identifying the village for setting up of a waste processing unit in June, the land acquisition process has just begun. So one such place is Arudi in Doddaballapur taluk where residents are gearing up to stage protest against the proposal to establish one such unit in their village.

Hi Guys,

The Arudi Gram Panchayat passed a unanimous resolution opposing the acquisition of 476 acres in the village by Bangalore Rural district administration. Locals will stage a protest and urge the Chief Minister to direct the BBMP to drop the project. Gorur people also protest against BBMP, as BBMP proposing to set up waste processing unit in their area.

Hi All,

Yet another place from where BBMP is facing a problem is at Lingadeeranahalli in Banashankari 6th Stage as the site proposed for the waste processing unit is near B.M. Kaval reserve forest, the only urban forest in Bangalore. So BBMP facing a lot of problems & issues while proposing to set waste processing units. In some places people are protesting & some places are unique , BBMP has to think twice before choosing any land.

Hi Tamana,

Despite all the opposition it is facing, BBMP officials claim that there is no setback for their plans. BBMP is confident of setting up waste processing plants in a few places, and it has already got the green signal from the government. As per BBMP, the civil works at various sites is under progress and most units will be functional in two months time.

Hi Tamana,
As per my knowledge, Gorur villagers staged a protest when the revenue officials went there to conduct a survey and fix the boundary on Thursday. According to residents, the site on which the waste processing unit is to come up is in the Kumudvathi catchment area that feeds the Tippagondanahalli reservoir.
