Hello Nanda If you do not get the family tree then you can ask for the Encumbrance Certificate for Property for the revenue department. They have all the records of who and all rented or bought the house previously.
The main reason for knowing the family tree is whether there are any successors to the owner who can claim for their rights for the property in future. You should know whether there are any boundations on the property. Family tree is usually not certified by Govt, so it is of least importance. Now as you already have the family tree record and the property is already 30 years old, you can get it checked in the revenue records by a village accountant or Revenue Inspector. Otherwise, you can publish your ownership and willingness towards the property in a local newspaper and wait for any objections from anyone having the right.
We already have the family tree from the current owner. He purchased this property in 1970 and should we ask the family tree from whom he purchased the property? How many years back should we check and get the family tree?
Family tree means the previous records of the tenants who had earlier stayed in the current property and who all have their share in the property. Get the family tree of the owner of the the property and verify it on your own if possible. If not known then it might create any legal problem in future. The property should be thoroughly checked for all the information and documents.
