How to check whether a residential plot belongs to the seller?

Q: I am going to buy a residential plot in my native place. The plot owners says that he is ok with all the docs related to the plot. But still, I want to verify whether everything is ok with it or not.

First you need to ensure that the plot is DTCP approved, then check for the current EC documents(computer documents signed by the registrar). Ask him to show you all parent and current land documents. If possible, then verify his voter ID card.
