Bescom Bangalore proposed Smart prepaid metre and assured that the utility will find a way to make sure the consumers' monthly instalment towards prepaid meters is less than Rs 50 per month. According to source, the consumer will have to pay for the smart prepaid meter but there is little clarity on who will pay for the meter - the tenant or owner.

As said by the experts the metre will give you appropriate amount of energy used by you on daily or monthly basis. The metre will be out in market by next year.
