I don’t think it’s difficult to get a medium size apartment with a lower cost in south kolkata. You need to look for it carefully as many small real estate developers and enterprises offer budget apartments like Eden flora, Meena Pearl Apartments etc.
Well I also think quality is necessary when you are investing in your property. Before making a decision, try to grab all information about the real estate company because sometimes you may lose your money investing in a wrong place.

If you get a medium apartment with cost around 35 to 40 make sure whether the developer shows you the blue print. Enquire whether you are paying on super built area or carpet area.
Garia real estate projects are selling as hot cakes!! Pricey.. there are many eden group projects there. but truly the place is well-connected to other parts of the city...

Ltd) Orion Exotica, Kasba (Orion properties) Eden Pearl ,New Garia St, Eden Brookside, Tollygunge, Eden Lavender , New Garia St. (Eden Group), Green City, Sonarpur(Green heaven realty), Santi Greens, E.M. Bypass (Ria constructions) etc.
Try Narendrapur or Sonarpur or Kamalgazi. If you want to stay close to south city and all, try rentals. Kolkata real estate market is on fire. Very very important: don’t just give away your money to a builder.
Garia is also posh dear! Nothing less than Rs.2200 per sqft. 228 bus-stand and interiors, the rate there is ever escalating. I booked my flat three-years ago.. its still under construction. The best thing is to live on rent.

Where in south Kolkata? The Behala side I think will be a mess. Transportation is real bad. Jadavpur-Sulekha belt is a good option. Abhishikta is becoming posh. You can try out Sonarpur. Also adjacent plots to Garia metro station are high in demand. You have to enquire with local builders for correct information.
