What are the documents to be retained?

Q: I have bought a house in Bangalore and the registration was done in March 2011 by the builder. I got possession in January 2012. I am now trying to figure out what are the documents that I must have and if someone could advise me in which order I must obtain or have all the documents relevant to Bangalore.
I have also taken a housing loan from LIC, so will that have a bearing on the documents I have and if yes which are the things I need to seek out post loan foreclosure.
Your help in resolving my question will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, as far as I know, these are the documents you have to obtain and retain while buying a house- Encumbrance Certificate, Khata Extract, Khata Certificate, Sales deed, Possession Certificate, Allotment Letter, Tax-Paid Receipt, Latest water bills and Electricity bills.
