Hello All, I am new to Kolkata and this was my first trip for a flat search. I am working in SBI Bank and recently moved from Patna. I would like to know about real estate market in Kolkata. What is the current scenario of Kolkata residential market in 2015?
Hi Alokesh, I think you are taking the right decision in your life and buying property is one of the major investment of entire life. As per recent market is concerned, the business-friendly policy of West Bengal government is slowly bringing energy to the lifeless residential market of Kolkata. Kolkata real estate market is purely known for the residential market which provide the need of the local population.
Demand of new projects by renowned developers along with Investment by IT firms led to a rise of two per cent in the city's realty market.Major developers such as Godrej Housing, Ashiana Housing, Salarpuria Sattva and Merlin Group, among others, launched residential projects in the city.
Hi Alokesh, I think State governments has identified new policy for theme-based townships got a thumbs-up from the developers community.National Institute for Smart Governance submitted a plan to develop New Town as a Smart City which will boost recent market.
Absolutely agree with you guys but I want to add few more point which I heard from my brother that the state government's announcement on relaxation of Floor Area Ratio had a positive impact on the realty market. The move is expected to drive the development of spacious buildings in the city.

4) For connect Haldia to Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Rs 4200 lakh has been distributed for the project which would cover 1620 km.
5) They also proposed to build a few special tribunals which would identify unwanted non-performing assets of public sector banks. For that they have selected Siliguri from North Bengal for one of the tribunals.
