The state government is thinking to upgrade Bangalore-Kanakapura-Malavalli Road to four lane to cut down pressure on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway and to have an alternate route to link Mysore to Bangalore via Malavalli. The road from Mysore to Malavalli via Bannur is proposed to be developed too as part of the comprehensive plan which includes doubling of Mysore-Bangalore railway line, a project that is expected to be completed in two years.
The location survey for the proposed rail link which was carried out during UPA-1 and the alignment of the line and the stations have been marked at that time. The rail line will help decongest Bangalore-Mysore line. The cost of the project is not estimated yet. Now it is not possible to say that whether the project will be economical viable for the Indian Railways. The rail project will improve the connectivity which will impact the real estate sector.
The rail project from Bangalore to Mysore will pass through Kanakpura and Kollegal. Chief Minister has now revived hopes of improved connectivity to the area.
The State government is planning to improve the rail connectivity from Bangalore to Mysore region by focusing on a rail project that was surveyed during the regime of UPA-1.The Bangalore-Chamarajnagar rail line will be put on track and the chief minister is soon going to announce financial assistance for the project.
