A resident complains that due to the road widening work, they have to take a deviation through residential areas to reach market. People who contacted Mysore City Corporation superintending engineer said widening work was going on and it will take few more months to finish as widening includes building compound wall to KR Hospital, electrical line shifting and drainage.Traffic police said that, police personnel have been set up at Bata Junction to manage the traffic and tiger vehilces will resume patrolling soon.
Vehicular movement on the road is heavy. Many visitors to KR Hospital park their vehicles haphazardly and traffic police’s tiger vehicles, which used to come around to pick up vehicles parked thus, has stopped after the road widening work started.
Dhanvantri Road is an important landmark of the city and this road connects JLB Road with Sayyaji Rao Road. To the east end of Dhanvantri Road are Devaraja Market and KR Hospital, while the west end joins JLB Road near Mysore Railway Station. Residents said that they are constantly exposed to dust due to the never-ending work. The residents have complained that the civic body was unnecessarily delaying the construction work. The work had also hit the business as the customers find it difficult to reach to the shops.
Commuters like me who have a two- wheeler are finding it difficult to ride on this busy road because of the random parking of vehicles on either side of the road. Residents having two-wheelers have to take circuitous route through the lanes if they want to visit the KR Hospital and Devaraj market.
The Dhanvantri Road, which connects many key roads, has turned in to a mess due to the ongoing widening work and bustling commercial activities on the road. The road work has been stopped do not know why.
