The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is likely to conduct a trial run of Green Line metro between Peenya and Nagasandra along Reach-3 of Namma Metro, on March 9 and by April, another trail run is expected to go up to Devaiah Park and touch Swastik around the same time.
The train took a test run over a 3 km stretch which qualifies as Reach 3A which comes along with the northern line of the first phase of Namma Metro. The officials said that the stretch will be functional very soon. A few months ago, the trial run of the Reach 3 north line of Namma Metro extends from Sampige Road in Malleshwaram to Peenya was conducted.
A metro worker said that it will take another year to complete the metro work as lot of construction work is pending. However, BBMP Chief Engineer (South zone), Sidde Gowda promised to the road at Vijayanagar by the end of March.Meanwhile, the trail run of the Bangalore Metro’s Green Line train was conducted between Peenya and its first two stations – Peenya Industrial Area and Peenya village was a success.
The people staying in and around this area have complained several times to BBMP stating the condition of the road but in vain. While people are aware of the advantages of having a Metro Rail in their midst, they don’t see why they have to live in such a mess for years. To their despair, the work on the Metro Rail is still plodding along.
According to BMRCL official, there are lot of pending work so the metro work need another one year to get completed. Residents living on the stretch of road from Maruthi Mandir to Vijaynagar are facing difficulties because of the metro work which began three years ago.
