BMRCL officials said that they have been waiting for the surveyors for nearly two months. The department has adopted a new mechanism and have finished 90% of survey of 8,000 acres of land in Tumakuru for National Invest and Manufacturing Zones.
The prominent stations are K R Puram, Narayanapura, Mahadevapura, Garudacharyapalya, Doddanakundi, Vishvesharaiah Industrial Estate, Kundalahalli, Vydehi Hospital, Satyasai Medical Institute, ITPL, Kadugodi, Ujwala Vidyalaya and Whitefield.
It is said that the price for land in the IT corridor ranges between Rs2,000 to Rs4,000 per square foot. To build the Metro line into the IT corridor, it is estimated that the local authority will spend thousands of crores. The extension line between Baiyappanahalli and Whitefield will have 14 stations on the 15.50 kilometer stretch.
BMRCL after taking a decision to minimize land acquisition in the IT corridor, has decided to acquire 78 properties from Baiyappanahalli to Mahadevpura in the first batch of acquisition. In the second batch of acquisitions, the BMRCL estimates that 15 to 20 acres of land will be identified.
With the construction of Phase II, areas like Whitefield, Electronic City and other IT hubs will be well connected to the other parts of the city. Many commuters and techies who have to travel to work to ITPL, Whitefield will find it very useful.
After Karnataka government gave permission for the expansion of metro works at localities like Whitefield, Mysore road, Rajajinagar, Malleshwaram and so on. The expansion of metro in all these areas has brought major changes in the realty prices indeed!
