Active cities in senior citizen apartments

I understand that the amenities provide are very costly but there are many senior citizens who wants to into such kind of apartments but cannot move because of the high price :( :( Don't you think these kind of houses should little cost effective.

It is not like that that senior homes are only for richie rich but what can be done even construction cost are going up just like anything and the amenities provided are also costly.

I agree with Saran. The amenities provided in such kind of projects are security, medical care, access to transport because they may be disabled, there is an emotional vacuum and hence need for social networking, domestic support and maintenance, technologically convenient lifestyles etc for which the cost for senior homes cannot be reduced.

The elderly population is increasing at 3.8% yearly which is expected to double in the next 20 years. :) :)

According to United Nations Population Division, it is expected that people aged 60 and above may increase from eight percent to 19 percent in 2050.

Currently, there are around 30 senior living projects in India and around 30 more are in the pipeline. Most of the projects are at the proposal stage.
