@Joydeep: The area is well connected with other parts of the city. It is just 20 km from Chennai City Railway Station. The Meenambakkam airport is about 14 kilometers away. Medavakkam is well connected by public transport. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Ltd and the Metropolitan Transport Corporation connect Medavakkam to other localities. Parking facility is easily available. Tambaram railway station only 8 kilometers. There are direct buses from Thiruvanmiyur, Broadway, Velacherry and Sholinganallur. By road It can be reached through Sholinganallur and Thiruvanmiyur.

Hey Sudhakar, As far as I know the security quotient in Medavakkam is good due to the presence of streetlights and gated communities. Multi-storey apartments are popular amongst middle and lower class people. So there is no need to worry as it is a well secured place.
Medavakkam is just 6km from velachery which is another residential hub with excellent road connectivity with Sholinganallur on the OMR and Tambaram on GST ROAD. The major roads linking Medavakkam junction are Velachery Tambaram Road, Medavakkam Mambakkam Main Road and Medavakkam Sholinganallur Road.
