Indian Cities among top 25 investment destinations of world - PwC Survey
Q: Hi, i read this news about Indian cities being ranked among the top 25 investment destinations of the world. what does this mean for real estate industry?
hi Jeet, the survey indicates that there has been a slight shift in investor interest from conventional assets in prime markets to newer and stable assets in niche markets. but yeah as said by others the interest of investors in the indian market is still high.
Hello Jeet, I gather from the reports that there is negative impact of market, currency, regulatory and political risk which results in a general sense of nervousness among foreign investors prompting them to stay on the sidelines. but there is an undoubted potential of Indian cities that continues to keep interest levels high.
hi, yes i too read about Mumbai, Bangalore , Delhi and Chennai making into this list of “Emerging Trends in Real Estate Asia Pacific 2014” survey conducted by Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Pricewaterhouse-Coopers (PwC). So although the regional rankings had come down, indian cities still are among the top 25 real estate destinations in the Asia Pacific region.
yeah… it seems that although mumbai and bangalore positions dipped delhi managed to keep its ranking while chennai came in as a new entrant into top 25 position. These ratings are attributed to the ongoing economic problems, an uncertain currency outlook, following a midyear plunge in the value of the rupee and an investment environment widely perceived to be unfriendly to international investors. Still, interest in the Indian market remains high.
