Monorail route in Coimbatore

Hey, few of the power plants set up in and around Coimbatore have started working. The first solar plant in this area, at Kuppepalayam is a 1 MW power plant that was set up by Swelect Energy Systems in October of 2012. It has been operational since then and supplies about 4000 units of energy on a daily basis.
Coimbatore has been facing serious power shortage from 2010 due to an increase in population. To combat this problem several new solar power plants have been set up in and around the city. These solar plants provide over 1000 units of electricity on a daily basis. The frequency and duration of power cuts in your locality as well as in other parts of Coimbatore will definitely go down.

The proposed monorail project will have three routes – the northern loop, the southern loop and the east-west linear route. The northern and southern loops are circular routes. The northern route will start from Gandhipuram and make stops at Ganpathy, Sivamunda Colony, Saibaba Colony, R.S. Puram, Flower Market, Town Hall, railway station and then finally back at Gandhipuram again. The southern route will start from Podanur and will cover Singanallur, Tiruchy Road, Sungam, Red Fields, Race Course, railway station and Ukkadam. The third route will be a linear one, connecting the eastern and western parts of the city, while making important stops like Lakshmi Mill junction, Gandhipuram and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

A. The upcoming monorail project proposed for Coimbatore will be mode of faster and smoother transportation around the city. If everything turns out as planned, then you would be able take the monorail to go to any place in Coimbatore in half the time it would normally take. Three routes have been proposed. A linear route to connect the eastern and western parts of the city, a northern loop and a southern loop. The linear route will start from Chinniampalayam on the west and extend till Thondamuthur on the east, while making several stops at places like Airport, KMCH Medicity, Tidel Park, Nehru Stadium, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, etc.
