Hey, i think the project is very delayed in kochi. while many cities in the country have submitted their detailed project reports and drafts master plan to conserve energy for the Union Govt.'s Solar city project, in kochi, this is yet to submit this report.

Solar City Project in kochi is primarily aimed at installing solar energy systems to power the streetlights, garden lights, households, hotels, restaurants and major administrative office in kochi. I think this will make kochi the first solar city of the state.

The Kochi Solarcity project is making good progress. It is in the final stages of planning and the construction works are supposed to start pretty soon. A core committee and a stake holder committee has already been formed by the Kochi Corporation Town Planning Committee. The International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) has been appointed to prepare the detailed project report for the status of electricity in Kochi.
Under the solar city project, the state of Kerala will see an increase the production of solar powered energy up to 500MW by 2017 and up to 2500MW by 2030.

Kochi is all set to become the first solar city in Kerala. As of now, a detailed power consumption report is being conducted throughout the city by the ICLEI. The detailed project report will help the city of Kochi to reduce the current power consumption rate before starting the Solar City project.
The power supply condition in Kochi will benefit a lot from this project. You won’t have to suffer through frequent and extensive power cuts anymore.
