Peaceful Locality in Coimbatore

Q: My husband and I are both senior citizens living in Chennai. We are thinking about moving to Coimbatore to get away from the noise of the city. What are peaceful residential localities where we can rent a 2BHK apartment for ourselves?

Hello ma’am, welcome to Coimbatore. This is a very suitable city for an elderly couple like you to settle in. The cost of living is also quite low compared to that in Chennai. You can live quite comfortably without having to spend much. There are some very good residential localities in Coimbatore like Vadavalli, TVS Nagar and Mulai Nagar, where I think you and your husband will be comfortable. These areas are more calm than other parts of the city, and the rent is also quite affordable.

Aunty, I would suggest that you try out some places near the foothills region of Coimbatore. Kovaipudur is a pretty good area located in the foothills of the hills surrounding Coimbatore. The weather here is good, pollution is low and the air is better than in the hub of the city. Kovaipudur is really peaceful and apt for senior citizens like yourself and your husband to settle in. The square foot rent for this area is around Rs. 5 per square foot, which is quite cheap.

Hey I would suggest you R S Puram. It is very peaceful residential locality with good roads and proximity to hotels like Anandhas, Sugam, all major banks, Brookfiels (Mall), vegetable shops, cloth shops , Jewelery shops are nearby and also schools like Vidya Bhavan are close. It is near centre of the City very posh and quite place. The D B Road is a busy shopping and business centre in the heart of R S Puram.

Hello aunty, it’s a good decision to move to Coimbatore from Chennai. Since both of you are senior citizens, I would suggest that you stay in a colony, where you can get help immediately, whenever you need. You can go for the area of Thudiyalur, many good colonies have come up here and it is also a very peaceful locality. The average square foot rent for 2BHKs in this area is Rs 9, which is quite reasonable.
