Hey Hiamni as far as I know the numbering of streets use the western grid pattern where even numbers are used for west – east running streets and odd ones are used for north – south. Also the roads are further designed in a way to provide enough walking space for pedestrians and also to accommodate greenery. The interior roads meet at a certain point which happens to be the central park.
Hey also the battery operated rickshaws are found in these streets which helps in commuting people through the locality making the environment eco-friendly.

Hey Alex, It is located in the heart of Chennai, Anna Nagar is one of those coveted posh localities where anyone would desire to have their residence. Also the locality commands huge rents and sale prices not merely due to its location, but also for its planning, infrastructure and of course reputation. :)
@Himani: The Poonamalle high road is in proximity to the locality which serves as the main route of accessibility to and from Anna Nagar. The locality is surrounded by other popular micro markets like Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam, Ambattur, Purasawalkam and Perambur. It has its own railways station which is a junction in the suburban railway network.
