Hi, I am planning to buy house in Bachupally @Praneet Antilia, is it a good to buy in and around this area. As i heard there is Pollution (Water & Air). Can anybody help me get me the corect information as of current status. Praneet say they have test ground water and there is not Pollution is it true or they saying for the sales.
Hi Kamala, to give you a little stats of the issue, there has been a total of 3.5 lakhs of sediment waste dumped into 5 acres ofquarry pits in this year alone. The 450-year old lake is connected to the three main nalas of Hyderabad in Kukatpally , Balkapur and Picket which makes the sediemtns from the quarries to travel here and mix with the water making it full of toxic materials. This water is unfit for drinking or any other use but it is still being sent out to home in the area for use. Dredging is the only option to help but it can also prove useless unless the flow of waste into Hussainsagar is stopped by the government.
Hi, apart from these concerns, some solutions that have been offered include drilling of observation walls so that the groundwater can be monitored in the area. These can help immensely along with set of tests that will help the effect on groundwater flow by dumping after monsoon. Since these were not followed, the problems got worser and inhabitants are left with polluted water as the sediments have mixed with the area’s groundwater. Thereby the quarry that was investigated now have more than 20000 cubic meter of sediments wastes. How it happens is because the muck is dried at Sanjeevaiah Park and then takent to Bachupally in containers.
Yes Kamala, I agree for your concerns and it is true that Bachupally has been recently under a lot of pollution from hazardous chemicals. This is because waste is being discarded carelessly at Gajularamaram which is outskirts very close to Bachupally. This is leading to many heaps of sediments being collected at the pits outer rims. Whenever it rains the whole thing gets washed away to the city areas which is very harmful. The biggest problem is that the tests were not done in crucial time but only after the public reacted. In fact, one national research agency had alerted them beforehand already but the claims were ignored.
Hello madam. From living in Bachupally for the last 6 months, i think i am in good position to bring to your notice about the concerns of large-scale pollution in the area. This is being caused because of the dumping of many many gallons of pollutants by the HMDA coming from the Hussainsagar. In fact, the Pollution Control Board or PCB has also looked at some samples from these to test and find out how much pollutants are there. From the sediments and water tested it is proved to be a lot of pollutants in stone quarry.
