Information about tax for residents of Jubilee Hills

Q: Hello all. I came across this news article which said the residents of Jubilee Hills are being charged higher tax compared to other localities in Hyderabad. Is this true? Can someone tell me about this because I'm considering buying a property here. Any info would be a great help! Thank youu

Apart from rental values, they also considered the amenities available in all these areas. For ex, drinking water, underground drain, good roads, schools, health centres and markets are not available in all these areas uniformly. Further the presence of malls, parks, playgrounds and such things were also considered. It was found that many residential areas in other localties didnt even have water and drainage lines yet. So it's only natural to charge lower tax rates for them. You should definitely go for Jubilee Hills if you're interested!

Yes. It's higher. In places like Madhapur and Hitec City, the change was from Rs.0.93 to Rs. 3.50 per sqft. Where as in Kondapur and Gachibowli, it was raised from Rs. 0.93 to Rs. 2.80 per sqft. I've heard that this change was brought in after a study was conducted. They randomly chose 20% of properties in each of these areas. And considered the present values of rent in each of these areas.

Hi there! The property tax in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills is certainly higher than other localities like Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hitec City and Kondapur. The GHMC revised the tax rates some years back. We were given some days time to come up with objections or suggestions regarding this move. But then the final decision was to icnrease the tax from Rs. 1.25 to Rs. 3.50 per square feet. It's quite an increase. But like the person above said it, I guess it's worth the facilities you get. So I would suggest you go ahead with your property buying and not let this factor affec it in any way.

Hello. You heard it right. The tax is considerably higher in Jubilee Hills. I've been residing here for a while now and have been through this transition. The thing is, the Government took this decision considering the rentals and the infrastructure facilities available for the residents. Since these things are much better in this locality compared to others, the tax is higher. In a way its a good thing. You may may lesser tax in other localities, but you'll not get all the convenience that you get here. It's worth shelling out a higher tax I guess.
