Hi. Although it is true that there are many shortcomings in hospital facilities in the area, these are expected to be rectified by seeking help from the expertise of larger hospitals around Coimbatore which can supply solutions for technical as well as operational challenges to be able to adopt the basic practices of infection control. As you must be aware, infection acquired in hospital premises usually worsens the condition of the patient and overall leads to an increase in the cost of treatment. You concern is perfectly valid, and I hope you find a good reputed medical service for the cause.

I have read recently in the newspapar that technical experts from Coimbatore’s five major hospitals are being summoned to coin the standards that are to be implemented in 250 nursing homes around the city. Ganapathy area will be fast affected as well, as the act for infection control standards for hospital and nursing homes in Coimbatore and clinical establishments has been supported by BD Medical Technology. Of course, it is only after the many limitations faced by nursing homes are factored that the standards will be drafted in lieu with shortage of manpower as well as overall infrastructure.

Hey. Being prevalent in every other city, hospital infection rates may have been quite high in Coimbatore for a while, but they are not anymore. Thanks to the Infection Control Forum of Coimbatore (ICF-CBE), a program formulating the minimum esential standards for every medical enterprise has been suggested in a tie up with the Nursing Home Board. The Coimbatore chapter of the Indian medical association (IMA) is also involved in the incentive, and Ganapathy will be a model locality for low infection rates very soon. Therefore I think your decision to seek treatment for your relative in this area is well made and favourable.
