Hello there:) So the demand for houses in Aroor is not that high as compared some other parts of Kochi in Marine Drive. But the locality still has a lot of vacant plots that seem to be attracting buyers of late. I think the plan is o give Aroor an infrastructural face lift so that property prices will increase and there will be more revenue from Aroor. There are also many upcoming projects that you should take a look at, if you're looking to invest. For example: The Tata Tritvam residential project. Not sure how well the plan is going to turn out but from my perspective, I definitely think giving Aroor a second look is worth it! :D

To be honest, the pipe repair work in Aroor was almost immediate but for Kumbalum the pipe fixing took at least 2 to 3 days. But lots of work has to be done. A road enclave had to be made so that repair works could begin and that ended up taking the entire first day. So people had no choice but to find other sources of water for a couple of days. Aroor in general is quite a developed part of Kochi so civic issues like this are responded to quickly by civic authorities. Apart from Aroor is really beautiful. It's actually a hot spot for tourism in Kerela! :)
Water pipes keep bursting in Kochi and now this is a common menace that we have to deal with it. The materials used for the pipes are of inferior cheaper quality and what is required for a water pipe is definitely not asbestos - cement material but should be iron clad! But the price for one metre asbestos is only 2000 to 3000 bucks and for the iron material it is easily 15,000! Insufficient funds as usual for this replacement to take place. Till then as already said, we can only hope we won't face more water issues in the city.
This water pipe burst happened in the end of August last year. It gave everybody quite a big headahce. The Kerela Water Authorities had stated that they had checked the Aluva pipes for any leakage but they found none. Yet in some places the pipes did burst and Aroor was one of them. Other localities had it worse though because atleast in Aroor immediate temporary work could be done. The KWA replaced the 3 to 4 inch gap in the Aroor - Kumbalam pipes with clamps. They plan on replacing that with a 30 inch metal plate eventually. Hopefully Aroor won't face more water shortage problems!
