Q: I saw on the news that Rau Pithampur road is suffering from a water crisis? What exactly is the problem? Are the civic issues even dealt with in that locality?

See 50% of the industries have this engine based process but other 50% badly requires water supply. Indore overall faces lots of water shortage and even residents are affected because of this. Pithampur is a Special Economic Zone and it cannot stop production process. It is very bad for Indore, if industry sector is affected. Even others SEZs are suffering because of lack of water. Civic Authorities should figure out what to do otherwise it is a real pity. Even international companies like Bridgestone from Japan was forced to shut down. If this happens, less companies will have faith in investing here. I don't understand why the authorities don't think about these things.

The production loss has reported to be 10 crores in the last few days. This is very bad for Indore as Pithampur is known for its cluster of industries that have boosted devolopment of Indore. If they stop their manufacturing then this will take a toll on the real estate of Rau Pithampur as well and property prices and value will go down. Example is Mahindra company that had to get water from Indore for a while to continue operations. Sad part is that even water tankers are not enough for these industries as this water is considered 'hard water' and cannot be used in the industrial process. efinitely some arrangement should be made asap but nobody even cares to do anything about it.

Hey as per today's news, the industries are in a horrible state due to lack of water. The thing was the Madhya Pradesh Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (MPAKVN) was supposed to provide water for Pithampur industrial cluster from the Narmada, but the project that was commissioned in 2011 still has not been completed. Although water has reached the religious place of Ujjain for the Simhastha in 2016 but it has not gone to Pithampur which was supposed to be acheived in the 1st phase of the project. Next 2 phases are about installing treatment plants but nothing seems to have happened yet.

All the industries on Pithampur are facing this water problem and the issue still hasn't been solved. Last year they said they will solve it this year. This year they are saying they will solve it next year. The Indore Municipal Corporation really needs to get a move on the Narmada-Kshipra linking project as it is the only way Pithampur will have a steady water supply. Right now, the water is being diverted for irrigation purposes and it has out of date pumps. The industry officials have even stated that they can't function well, with the lack of water and if water is not supplied then many will shut down.
