Water and Electricity supply in Talawani Chanda

Q: I'm thinking about moving to Sarthak Singapore Green View row houses in Sukliya. I've heard that this locality has faced problems with electricty and water supply in the past. Is it still a problem? Will I face difficulties if I shift to Talawandi Chanda?

I don't think the problem has been completely rectified. I read that the farmers at Talawani Chanda are rebelling against the electrity lines being laid down all across their agricultural fields. The Narmada phase 3 project requires drawing water from Mandlashar dam by laying an electrity line of 132 kv. But the farmers aren't budging and the state may need to take legal action against those who resist which is very sad. But only 90 MLD of water is being drawn from here when in reality approx 300 MLD needs to be drawn. So there is still a bit of an issue but I don't think it would directly affect you.

Hello hello! So Sarthak Green view apartments is a great place to live in. Even in terms of conserving resources. They practice rain water harvesting, and they reuse waste water. There is 24 hour electrity supply and you wouldn't face any problems living in the gated community as well as the area in general. The farmers resisted the electrity line about 2 years ago. There have finally been compromises made since then but it's not a given that there wouldn't ever be a water problem at Indore again. Still shouldn't stop you from wanting to move into an awesome new place! :D

The reason why Talawani Chanda suffered a lot during the period of the water crisis is because it is a village located in the Tehsil district of Madhya Pradesh which is at least 10 km from the main city of Indore. There was a lot of pollution in the surrounding lake and the tanks were contaminated with pesticide waste. It became a very scary situation for everyone at Indore but the problem has long since then been rectified.

Actually this water problem happened at least 15 years ago. But we still felt the consequences of water scarcity just a few years back. People from Indore used too much of the underground water and well water that Indore suffered a major drought. Ultimately we had to draw water from the Narmada river and divert a part of the water for the people at Indore. The basic problem started with water pollution of tanks as well as lakes. Because of this, we could not even think about using the lakes as a source for water. So more and more water needed to be diverted from Narmada but today, Indore is at a much better position and better developed. I really don't think there's going to be a major water crisis any time soon! :)
