Q: Hey isnt there some serious encroachment issues around the Songir Lake in Hatod? What is being done about that? I’ll be moving in to this area soon, I don’t want any problems.
Yes you’re right, even I’ve seen this happening in Songir. Looks like the anti-encroachment drive carried out by the Indore authorities in the month of January didn’t help all that much, because even today we see such problems recurring here and there. Hatod is the biggest example. I think its because this locality is slightly on the outskirts of Indore. The people who are most affected by this problem have actually come up with a very good idea to prevent this from happening. They have suggested planting trees around the lake so that there is no space at all for these miscreants to encroach upon.
Actually you’re right. This lake is in Hatod, and the people there are actually complaining of the severe encroachment problems down there. I’ve been down there myself, and what I saw is that the lake is slowly drying up, from the dry weather, or from the pollution caused by these encroachments, I don’t know. Its slowly drying up, and people are just encroaching upon the dried up banks.
