Yes, you’re right, the land they acquired from the Iskon temple is actually lower than the original decided size. The land was inspected last October, and there it was decided that it would be acquiring the Iscon land under the Land Acquisition Act. Initially they wanted to get all 1601.85 sq. yards or 1339.35 sq. m of the temple’s land. But out of respect for the institution of the temple, they reduced the size to 612.77 square yards, or 512.35 square metres.

Yes, he is right. The Iskon were not ready to give their land over at first. But the HMRL didn’t change their route, because it was aligned by professionals from Delhi. They were not entirely sure about the repercussions it would lead to, to change the track of the metro rail line. So they decided not to change it, but reduce the land parcel so that it also didn’t hurt religious sentiments.

Actually there has been some recent development in this matter. You know the Iskcon temple near St John’s rotary in Secunderabad right? So the HMR is going to be acquiring some land here, which actually belongs to the Iskcon temple. Initially there was a lot of controversy over this issue. The Iskcon authorites didn’t want to surrender their land to the HMR, so they had requested them to realign there metro line route, so as to not intrude on the temple premises.
