Activities of Muda in Mysore

Q: Hai friends. I am shortly moving to Mysore and I heard that MUDA has some new developmental plans for Mysore city? Can someone tell me what these are and how it will affect Mysore's real estate value? Thank u very much.

MUDA has thought about these expansion plans since 2000 and at that time, satellite township developments in Yelawal was still debated between the ministers because they thought this could lead to be an unstable, runaway growth of Mysore.

I remember about 10 years ago places like Hootagalli, Keergalli, Alanahalli, Bogadi, and Yelwal were actually considered to be on the extreme outskirts of Mysore. How times have changed! :)

Definitely there is going to be horizontal expansion of Mysore city as MUDA is currently developing the Balahalli layout in the fringe of the city. Also many private developers also have many residential projects being undertaken in the outskirts.

But most of the residential projects proposed by MUDA are still in the process of development since 5 years when it as first announced. MUDAs pland to contruct additional sites and them disperse those to investors, and realty players.

So much agricultural land is there in Mysore that is going to be taken over by indutrialisation and urbanisation. MUDA has plans of extending development to the far outskirts of Mysore.

Yes and contrary to this, Greater Mysore is to have 41 villages under 18 gram panchayats incorporated into the Mysore city corporation limits very soon. There is goign to be improved road connectivity to Bangalore also.

Hello. Yes the Mysore Urban Development Authority has a lot of plans for Mysore in the near future. Especially with respect to formation of new layouts, new residential projects, more infrastructure facilities. One thing is clear, Mysore is headed for massive expansion changes in the near future.
