Q: Hey. I'm a student and I'm moving to Kochi for completing my high school. My school being in Vaduthala (Chinmaya Vidyalaya), I want to know about the Vaduthala area. Please mention if you know about any pg accomodation or flats for rent. I will be staying alone.
As you are moving to Vaduthala for schooling purposes and going to be alone, I'd say it's better for you to stay in a PG accomodation. There are apartments you can take up on rental basis but that can be pretty expensive. So, if you're looking for gents PG accomodation you will find a few in Vaduthala itself, at a monthly rent of approximately Rs. 2000 and if you want ladies PG accomodation, you have to go to Pachalam or Elamakkara (around 2 - 4 km from Vaduthala). The monthly rent for a ladies PG would be in the range of Rs. 2500 - 3500. Though not the heart of the city, Vaduthala is well connected to main city areas such as MG Road, Palarivattom, Edapally etc. Public transport is easily accessible - auto stands and bus stands are many in number. The closest railway station is about 5 km away and the airport is 30 km away. Supermarkets, ATMs, banks, petrol bunks, restaurants, hospitals are all in the area.
Hey! I've heard a lot about Chinmaya Vidyalaya, it's said to be one of the best schools in Kochi. All the best for your studies! Vaduthala is a peaceful locality with no chaos of the main city. But it's not like you will have to live a boring life as Vaduthala is connected to happening city areas like MG Road, Panampally Nagar, Edapally and you can get there by means of autos, trains and buses. There are shopping stores, ATMs, petrol stations and restaurants in and around Vaduthala. About your stay, you could rent an apartment but that can turn out to be a costly affair considering you're going to be on your own. I'd suggest you take up a PG accomodation. Ladies PG accomodations are available in a distance of 2 - 4 km from Vaduthala, monthly rent of Rs. 2000 - 3800 approximately. Gents PG accomodations are available in Vaduthala itself, monthly rent of Rs. 1800 - 2000. Most of the PGs provide all meals a day, otherwise they have kitchen facilities so you can make your own food. I hope this information comes of use to you :)
Chinmaya Vaduthala is one of the best schools in Kochi city, congrats on getting a seat there! About Vaduthala, well it is not a really happening place as far as the youth is concerned but then it is not hard to commute to different parts of the city from here as you have access to public transport like buses, autos and trains. You can hop on and go to city areas like MG Road, Edapally, Panampally Nagar etc for sum fun and frolic. There are flats available for rent (DD Silver Stone) but they are mostly 2 BHK/3 BHK. PG accomodations would be better for you, considering you will be living alone. You will find gents PG accomodation in Vaduthala itself, but for ladies PG, you will have to travel 2 - 4 km from Vaduthala. The rent for gents PG is lower (Rs. 1800 - 2000 per month) as compared to that of ladies PG (Rs. 2000 - 3500 per month). There are supermarkets, ATMs, banks, fuel stations and restaurants in Vaduthala area.
Hey there! I did my entire schooling in Chinmaya Vaduthala and it was simply the best. I hope you enjoy your time there :) Vaduthala is a suburb in Kochi city and it is not loud and lively like the main city areas. Vaduthala is connected to all main parts of the city like MG Road, Edapally etc and public transport is available - autos, buses and trains. There are hospitals, grocery stores, shopping marts, ATMs, banks, restaurants etc in the area. As per my knowledge flat rental rates are pretty high. I suggest you to take up a PG accomodation. In Vaduthala, there are a few gents PGs. Within 2 - 4 km from Vaduthala, you can find ladies PGs. PG accomodations charge you Rs. 1800 - 3500 on a monthly basis and most of them provide food. As a student, I thought Vaduthala was pretty boring but then you can always head out into the city for a good time with your friends!
