Q: Can anyone give me some details about this NIMZ project in Kochi? Will it affect real estate in Kochi? I was planning to buy some property in this city, can you please advice what localities are likely to be most benefitted by this project?

Hey, i came to know that a 50 km band in the Kochi-Palakkad NH 544 will act as the spine of the project. See, the Project Influence Area is 8000 sq. km. i think the cost of the project is estimated at 53, 825 crore rupees including cost of land, cost of internal infrastructure, and other costs.

actually, you see, the NIMZ project is a part of the Emerging Kerala venture by the state government. It is likely to benefit the state's development in a huge way. I came to know that the objective of this National Investment and Manufacturing Zone is to develop the region as a manufacturing & trading hub in the state.

Hey, he’s right. The project is going to be like a major commercial and industrial hub. According to experts, a number of cluster cities are bound to spring up along this corridor. One of the major advantages that this project will have on Kochi real estate is the opening up of a number of job opportunities, which will bring in more and more people from other cities and states. An increase in the demand for properties in the future is bound to happen, so I would advise you to buy the property now itself, when the prices are comparatively low.

NIMZ is basically the upcoming Kochi-Palakkad National Investment and Manufacturing Zone. This Kochi-Palakkad corridor is all set to become the industrial hub of Kochi. This area will have around four special economic zones (SEZ parks). The whole area will have better developed road network, with advanced drainage systems, water treatment plants, solid waste management system, a highly developed sewerage system, and other internal components. Not just Kochi, but districts of Palakkad, and Thrissur are going to get majorly benefitted by this project.
