FAR means the ratio of the total area of a building divided by the total area of the plot the building is located on.In recent The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has relaxed FAR norms for those who holds small chunk of land, farmers and economically deprived section of the society.
According to new rule a small land holder, even up to 90 meter land, can raise the building up to 15 meter — four floors. He can further raise the height if provides parking facilities in the basement or first floor and fulfill fire department requirements. The land holder can dig a basement even on such a small plot of 90 meter up to the front leaving two meter space on three sides. Earlier only a 20 per cent basement was allowed.
